The Waterfront Human Resources Information System ("WHRIS") is a database system of employment related information pertaining to longshore employees working under the BCMEA/ILWU Collective Agreements. WHRIS is maintained by the B.C.Maritime Employers Association ("BCMEA") and is accessible by those member companies of the BCMEA who employ longshore employees (the "Direct Employers"). Direct Employers are provided access to WHRIS in order to ensure the efficient management of on-site ILWU personnel, with particular regard to safety and productivity.
The WHRIS system can only be accessed by direct employers who have read, agreed to and signed off a copy of the "Human Resources and Information System (WHRIS) and Protection of Personal Information � Policy and Protocol" document. A copy of this document can be found at the bottom or "footer" area of this screen.
